Student Absences Senior School Administrator

We are currently seeking a Student Absences Senior School Administrator to support the Student Reception team in managing student attendance processes. This role involves maintaining accurate attendance records, monitoring unexplained absences, and liaising with parents, Year Coordinators, and other School leaders regarding attendance matters, including absenteeism and truancy.
This position requires a highly organised and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong administrative capability, and exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily student attendance across Senior School classes, including students attending excursions and other school-based activities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of planned student absences within school systems
Act as the first point of contact for parents regarding unexplained absences
Follow up on unexplained class absences in a timely manner
Liaise with Senior School leadership regarding discrepancies in attendance, including truancy and other concerns
Communicate with teaching and operational staff regarding student absences and required adjustments
Manage late arrivals and early departures, ensuring records are accurately maintained
Coordinate early departure requests, including confirming details with parents and signing students out via Student Reception
Skills and Experience
Proven experience in a similar administrative role (education environment advantageous)
Strong administrative and organisational skills
Ability to multitask effectively and meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with students, parents, and staff
High level of accuracy and attention to detail (essential)
Professional presentation and manner, with a friendly and approachable disposition
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment
