Systems Engineer – Defence Capability Programs
Play a hands‑on role in designing and delivering mission‑critical defence systems that directly contribute to Australia’s sovereign defence capability. This role offers exposure across the full systems engineering lifecycle, working on complex, integrated platforms where reliability, safety, and performance truly matter.

About the Role
As a Systems Engineer, you’ll work across system definition, integration, and verification & validation on complex defence programs. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that individual subsystems come together into dependable, operationally effective solutions.
You’ll contribute to:
system architecture and requirements development
integration of sensors, communications, and platform subsystems
verification and validation of safety‑ and mission‑critical systems
technical reviews, risk assessments, and design decisions
This role offers exposure to long‑term defence programs with real operational impact.
Key Responsibilities
Support system requirements, architecture, and design activities
Participate in system integration, test, verification & validation
Contribute across the full engineering lifecycle in line with recognised standards
Work closely with software, hardware, and project teams to deliver integrated solutions
Support technical reviews, risk assessments, and engineering governance
About You
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline
2–5 years’ experience working in a complex engineering environment
Exposure to systems requirements, architecture, integration, verification, modelling and analysis
Australian citizen eligible to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance
Defence experience is valued but not essential — we support engineers transitioning into defence.
