We're now looking for a Team Lead to help lead and grow our Australian Data & Integration capability. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys staying close to the tech while leading a team - setting direction through delivery, mentoring, and strong engineering leadership.
 
This is a great opportunity to step into a role where you can shape both people and platform, supported by a well-established trans-Tasman practice with strong momentum.
 
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll help lead a team delivering modern, cloud-native integration solutions, while also contributing hands-on to architecture and build. You'll play a key role in shaping delivery quality, engineering standards, and team capability. You will: 

• Uplift team capability through coaching and mentoring, building a strong, accountable engineering culture
• Provide technical leadership across delivery, guiding solution direction and supporting the team through complex challenges
• Design and deliver cloud-native integration solutions, primarily across AWS, including APIs, event-driven systems and platform integrations
• Guide best practice across DevOps, CI/CD, security, and observability within the integration platform
• Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Drive consistency in engineering standards, code quality, and delivery approaches across the team
• Support project delivery, including planning, resourcing, and technical oversight
• Contribute to the evolution of Fusion5's data and integration capability, including tooling, frameworks, and reusable assets
• Support the growth of the team through hiring and onboarding as the practice expands

What You'll Bring
This role suits someone who enjoys leading from the front - combining strong technical depth with people leadership, bringing an AI-first mindset to how solutions are designed and delivered. You're likely to bring: 

• Proven experience working across both client-side and consulting environments, with a strong understanding of how to operate in each
• Experience leading or mentoring engineers within integration or platform teams
• Strong background in data, integration, or closely related technical domains, with cloud-based delivery experience (AWS preferred)
• Experience designing event-driven and API-led architectures in modern environments
• Hands-on development experience across backend, APIs, and integration patterns
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices, automation, and modern engineering tooling (including AI-assisted development practices)
• An ability to identify where AI can enhance integration patterns, delivery efficiency, or customer outcomes
• Experience working within professional services environments, balancing delivery, customers, and commercial outcomes
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes
• A collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in developing people and building team capability
