Are you an experienced Team Leader/Disability Support Practitioner looking for the next step in your career while remaining hands-on with participants?

ABCARE Disability Support is seeking a passionate, experienced, and motivated professional to join our growing team in a unique hybrid role that combines leadership, administration, and direct participant support.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside management, mentor and support a team of dedicated support workers, and continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with disability.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Working flexibly between administrative duties in the office and hands on duties supporting our participants.

This position offers the perfect balance between office-based administration and hands-on participant support. You will work closely with management to ensure the delivery of high-quality services while helping foster a positive, supportive workplace culture.

No two days are the same. You may be coordinating services, assisting with rostering, supporting staff, monitoring participant budgets, or providing direct support to participants in their homes and the community.

Initially, this role will commence on a casual basis during the probation period, with the opportunity for permanent employment for the right candidate.

ABOUT YOU:

You are an experienced support professional who thrives in a leadership role while remaining passionate about providing direct support to participants.

You are organised, adaptable, solution-focused and enjoy supporting both participants and fellow team members. Most importantly, you lead by example and share our commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Minimum 12 months' experience in a leadership, mentoring, supervisory, rostering, coordination or senior support role

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Disability Support Practitioner

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills

  • Experience with NDIS-related administration and service delivery requirements

  • Experience supporting individuals with personal care needs

  • Medication administration experience

  • Manual handling experience supporting people with limited mobility

  • Ability to work independently, within a team environment and in a supervisory capacity

  • Demonstrated understanding of participant rights, dignity, choice and person-centred practice

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with compliance documentation, incident reporting, risk management and service quality requirements

  • Flexible availability across a 24/7 rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings and weekends

  • Ability to participate in an after-hours on-call roster (approximately four evenings per fortnight, including alternate weekends)

  • Unrestricted rights to work in Australia

  • Access to a computer or laptop at home

  • Seeking a long-term employment opportunity

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHECKS

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or higher

  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • Current Working With Children Check

  • Current National Police Check (within the last three months) or willingness to obtain

  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

  • Current Australian Driver Licence

  • Registered and insured vehicle

  • Completion of NDIS Mandatory Training Modules:

    • Worker Orientation Module

    • New Worker NDIS Induction Module

    • Supporting Effective Communication

    • Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals

  • Willingness to provide a certified driving history from Service NSW
