Senior Technical Writer | 6 Months Contract | Brisbane
  
A contract opportunity for a Senior Technical Writer to support a program of work on an initial six-month contract, with a view to extend.
  
You will be operating within a regulated environment, where all system changes must be formally submitted to, and approved by, the relevant regulator, and this role owns the documentation that underpins those submissions.
  
As the sole writer on the program, the successful candidate will take full ownership of the documentation function and drive it forward independently.
  
Responsibilities

• Produce clear, accurate and compliant documentation in support of regulatory submissions
• Develop broader technical documentation, including specifications and descriptions of API behaviour
• Collaborate closely with the development team, working across code and pull requests
• Translate complex technical detail into structured, regulator-ready documents
• Maintain rigorous version control, traceability and audit trails
• Liaise with legal and regulatory stakeholders as submissions progress through approval
• Drive the work forward independently, following up with stakeholders to meet deadlines

Experience and attributes

• Proven experience producing documentation within regulated environments, such as financial services, medical devices, aviation or similar
• Confident working with technical artefacts, including code, pull requests, Jira and Confluence
• The ability to operate as the sole writer on a program
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• Meticulous attention to detail across versioning, IDs and audit trails
• A pragmatic approach

Engagement details

• 6 months contract initially, with a view to extend
• Brisbane CBD based, 1 to 2 on site per week
• Commencing early July
• Daily rate: 650 to 750
