Our Client in Lyndhurst is seeking for an experienced Telecommunications Field Engineer who will be responsible for planning, installing, testing, and maintaining telecommunications equipment and network systems. The successful candidate will work on-site to ensure network performance, reliability, and compliance with technical specifications, while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

Task & responsibilities

• Design, configure, install, and commission telecommunications equipment including routers, switches, transmission systems, fibre optic and wireless networks
• Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to determine network requirements
• Perform testing, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting of telecommunications systems
• Monitor and optimise network performance, ensuring reliability and service quality
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and compliance reports
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to coordinate installation and upgrade works
• Ensure all installations comply with Australian Communications standards and WHS requirements
• Support the integration of new technologies and infrastructure improvements
• Provide technical advice and guidance to field technicians and junior staff
• Participate in preventative maintenance programs and emergency fault response

Qualification & experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related field
• Demonstrated experience in telecommunications network installation and maintenance
• Strong knowledge of fibre optics, wireless systems, IP networking, and transmission technologies
• Experience with network testing equipment and diagnostic tools
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and schematics
• Understanding of Australian telecommunications standards and compliance requirements
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required
