Due to high growth we are looking for an entry level or experienced Textile CNC Machine Operator to join our small family owned and operated manufacturing business located in the Hunter Valley. We pride ourselves on being leaders in our industry and are looking for a highly driven member to join our team.

We have an amazing opportunity at our Rutherford based factory for an entry level or experienced Textile CNC Machine Operator looking for a Full-Time position working for a fast-growing Australian manufacturing business. Not only do we manufacture a wide range of high-quality products, but we also supply both domestic and international markets. With our production demand growing exponentially, we are on the hunt for someone who wants more than a job — someone who wants to love where they work, love what they do and why they do it. We are looking for someone who isn't afraid of hands-on work and enjoys being part of a dynamic and evolving business.

Our product range is diverse, and we believe in delivering precision, quality, and innovation in everything we produce. For the right candidate, this role has the potential to grow into a leadership position.

We are looking for someone to start immediately. Experience operating CNC cutting machinery (including textile cutting machines such as Pathfinder or similar) is advantageous but not essential. If you have experience in manufacturing, machinery operation, or CAD/CAM environments, we can help you transition and develop your skills. If you have the right attitude and work ethic, you will learn LOADS of new skills and there is plenty of career progression to be had.

The perfect candidate will:

  • Have strong computer skills and ability to work with machine software/files

  • Possess intermediate computer skills including proficiency with MS Office and basic software applications

  • Be able to follow procedures and production workflows

  • Have strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Have good time management and communication skills

  • Be willing to assist in other areas of the business as needed

  • Be clean and tidy, in appearance and in your workspace

  • Have the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team and possess strong problem-solving skills

  • Pride themselves on producing high quality work regardless of the task

  • Possess a strong work ethic, professional attitude, and willingness to learn new skills

What you'll be doing:

  • Safely operating CNC cutting machinery (including setup and job changeovers)

  • Loading, preparing, and running cutting files

  • Monitoring machine performance to ensure accuracy and efficiency

  • Identifying and troubleshooting issues with machinery/fabrics or cutting processes

  • Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment

  • Identifying and reporting faults or inconsistencies during production

  • Quality control and inspection of finished products

  • Working closely with all other staff

  • Maintaining a very high standard of workmanship

  • Ensuring your workspace is clean, organised, and safe

  • Assisting in maintaining a clean factory and warehouse

  • Preparing customer orders for sewing machinists to complete

  • Running the heat press machine

  • Running an automatic cutting machine to cut zipper etc

  • Manual handling large rolls of material and ensuring raw materials are ordered when low stock

  • Capability to perform heavy lifting up to 30kg as part of material handling duties

  • Assisting in other areas of the company as required

In return we offer:

  • Monday to Friday working hours, with Public Holidays off and Christmas shutdown

  • A very attractive salary of $26–$35 per hour (your existing skill will determine starting rate) + entitlements - dependent on experience

  • Monthly Rostered Day Off

  • A supportive, relaxed and team-focused working environment

  • Modern, state-of-the-art CNC machinery

  • Ongoing training, skill development

  • A judgement-free, Equal Opportunity and inclusive workplace

  • A role where your ideas and input are genuinely valued

Remuneration will be based upon the Textile, Clothing, Footwear and Associated Industries Award 2020, likely graded around a 3-5 classification depending on experience, however we believe in rewarding the right candidate above Award rates.

If you're up for something unique, you're enthusiastic and you think you'd be a perfect fit — hit the apply button and INCLUDE YOUR PERSONALISED COVER LETTER to tell us a bit more about you! Yes, we do read them — so make it relevant and show us who you are.

To be eligible for this position you must be an Australian resident or have the appropriate visa to work in Australia/New Zealand and be able to provide proof. No visa applicants will be considered.
