Fundamental Resources Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Driver Trainer / Assessor to join our Haulage Operations team at our Wiluna Operations.

Reporting to the Haulage Manager, this role is responsible for supporting driver capability, safety performance and operational compliance through practical driver training, competency assessments, VOCs, compliance coaching and field-based mentoring.

The successful candidate will work closely with operations and safety teams to ensure drivers, operators and contractors are trained, competent and able to perform their duties safely and in accordance with company standards, site requirements and legislative obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering practical driver training, inductions, site familiarization and VOC assessments.

• Conducting driver onboarding and ongoing coaching across haulage operations.

• Assessing competency in heavy vehicle operations, load restraint, coupling/uncoupling, reversing, fatigue management and site-specific procedures.

• Conducting field observations, ride-alongs and operational audits.

• Supporting incident investigations, corrective actions and retraining requirements.

• Reinforcing compliance with Chain of Responsibility, WA Fatigue Management, Journey Management Plans and company procedures.

• Maintaining accurate training records, assessment documentation and compliance reporting.

• Assisting with the development and review of SOPs, JMPs, Take 5s and operational training materials.

• Promoting a positive safety culture and supporting continuous improvement across the workforce.

To be successful, you will have:

• Current MC Driver's Licence.

• Experience in haulage, transport, mining or heavy industry.

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in haulage, transport, mining or heavy industry.

• Strong knowledge of heavy vehicle operations.

• Good understanding of Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and load restraint requirements.

• Strong communication, coaching and mentoring skills.

• Ability to work in a field-based operational environment.

• High attention to detail and strong reporting ability.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, National Police Clearance and site inductions.

Desirable experience:

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

• Experience conducting VOCs.

• Side tipper quad or heavy haulage experience.

• Mining logistics experience.

• Experience using MT Data or telematics systems.

• Forklift or HRWL licence.
