Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Operate multi-combination (MC) vehicles including singles, B-doubles, and road trains across
urban, regional, and rural routes in all weather conditions.
- Comply with all relevant company policies, workplace health and safety (WHS) standards,
and federal, state, and local transport regulations.
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of freight while meeting scheduled run times.
- Open communication with direct supervisor at all times.
- Monitor and record refrigerated unit temperatures during transit to ensure compliance with
cold chain requirements and product integrity
- Maintain the security and integrity of freight and company equipment at all times.
- Complete pre-departure and post-trip inspections, including filling out the Pre-Start Checklist
and daily fatigue management log.
- Perform coupling and uncoupling of trailers, including manual cranking of dolly legs and
connecting air/electrical lines.
- Conduct minor vehicle repairs as directed by management, in accordance with company
protocols.
- Load and unload freight safely using appropriate equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks,
and trolleys, when required.
- Accurately complete and maintain records of trips, mileage, and freight documentation, as
required under NHVR or other relevant authorities.
- Ensure correct placarding and handling of hazardous materials in line with Dangerous Goods
regulations.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to maintain up-to-date skills and
compliance.
- Demonstrate a professional and customer-focused approach at all times.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Valid MC (Multi-Combination) Driver’s License (required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- BFM Certification
- Sound knowledge of fatigue management, load restraint, and chain of responsibility (CoR)
requirements
- Ability to operate various load-handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and dollies
- Competence in coupling/uncoupling trailers and adjusting trailer configurations
- Strong understanding and adherence to safe operating procedures
