COSOL is partnering with a leading open cut coal operation in regional New South Wales to recruit an experienced Stores Supervisor for an initial 6-month contract engagement.

Reporting to the Planning and Warehousing Superintendent, this role is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of site stores operations, ensuring safe and efficient warehouse management while delivering high levels of service to internal maintenance customers. This is a hands-on supervisory position offering genuine ownership of warehouse processes within a structured, high-performing maintenance environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise all warehouse operations including goods receipt, stock issue, and stocktake compliance
  • Manage maintenance stock holdings at required levels; analyse stock profiles and movement trends to recommend optimal inventory strategies
  • Monitor warehouse performance metrics and drive continuous improvement across stores operations
  • Coordinate with maintenance planners, procurement, and logistics providers to ensure seamless supply chain execution
  • Ensure compliance with site Safety Management System and Environmental Management System across all stores activities
  • Oversee correct storage and handling of hazardous materials in accordance with site and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse personnel; identify and support appropriate training programs

Requirements
  • Relevant qualification, or substantial equivalent experience in stores, warehousing, logistics, or purchasing — ideally within mining or heavy industry
  • Demonstrated experience with inventory management systems; SAP experience highly regarded
  • Ability to operate motorised forklift, electric forklift, pallet jack, and related warehouse equipment desirable
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage effectively across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Sound analytical capability with experience interpreting inventory data and identifying emerging trends
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling requirements desirable
